Point Hicks Lightstation

Project Overview

The recent climatic events (2019-20 bushfire, flood, and vegetation regrowth) which included the destruction of the bridge that provided access to the site – the ongoing use and maintenance of Point Hicks Lightstation has been disrupted. Our team has been engaged by Parks Victoria to provide a condition assessment of the site that identifies immediate maintenance requirements and to determine the priority of essential works to be delivered prior to the reopening of the road. Our scope of works also includes the preparation of an Asset Management Plan, existing conditions drawings, and importantly to the review and update the current Conservation Management Plan completed 30 years ago.

As part of the initial inspection, our team of consultants have reviewed the condition of the heritage fabric over three days on site. The findings are allowing us to prepare the condition assessment report whilst concurrently developing the new Conservation Management Plan.
